UK TANNING LAWS

REGULATION

Tanning is regulated in the UK to ensure it is carried out responsibly and safely. Under the Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to use commercial sunbeds in salons or other premises. Businesses are legally required to verify age and ensure that no under-18s are offered or allowed access to tanning equipment. (gov.uk)

RESPONSIBILITIES

At our studio we take these responsibilities seriously. Every client must be 18 or over, and we operate strict identification checks where required. We also provide guidance on responsible tanning, helping you choose the right session length and build your colour gradually rather than overexposing your skin.

LOOKING AHEAD

Like many industries connected to health and wellbeing, tanning regulations continue to evolve. The UK government and health authorities periodically review the industry, and proposals are being discussed that could introduce stricter checks, including mandatory ID verification and tighter supervision of sunbed use in the future. REASSURANCE

For our clients, this simply means reassurance. Our studio is designed to meet — and exceed — the standards expected of a modern tanning environment. From professionally maintained equipment to responsible session guidance, we operate with the same focus on safety and compliance that we apply to quality.

We want you to look great whilst ensuring you are safe at all times. Please help us help you.
